A.J. Dorminey's Obituary
A. J. Dorminey, 88, of Nashville, died Friday December 12, 2014 at his residence.
He was born October 13, 1926 in Colquitt County to the late J. W. Dorminey and the late Alda Hall Dorminey. He was retired as the owner of Dorminey's Department Store, member of Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church, and served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was preceded in death by a brother: Eddie Dorminey; 2 sisters: Faye Nix and Annette Dorminey.
He is survived by his wife: Nell Hooper Dorminey of Nashville; 4 daughters: Devonne "Von" (Randy) Nix of Magnolia Springs, AL, Debbie (Chuck) Strickland of Nashville, Dawn (Paul) Garrett of Guyton, and Dianne (Rodney) Browning of McDonough; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brother: Harold Dorminey of Brooks; sister: Glenda Collins of Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall, Elder Dwight Marshall and Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 PM.
