Alice Merritt Swann, 81, of Nashville, died Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Fellowship Home.

She was born July 27, 1944, in Hancock County to the late Horace Allen Merritt and the late Bessie Mae Kitchens Merritt. She was a homemaker, owner of Swann’s Plants & Things and worked several years at Moody Federal Credit Union. She loved her family, was passionate about flowers and plants and was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Rodger William Swann who died in 2019 and was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Grace Powell, Faye Daniels and Jean Pike; 2 brothers: Billy Merritt and Bobby Merritt.

She is survived by her daughter: Alison Swann of Nashville; 2 granddaughters: Sarah (Jeremy) Rhodes of Valdosta and Maggie (Cody) Betts of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Bussey officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
