May 20, 1961 – April 2, 2022
John Allon Boatright, II, 60, of Valdosta, died Saturday April 2, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his wife and children, after a courageous two year battle with ALS.
He was born May 20, 1961 in Waycross to John Allon Boatright and Ann Rogers Boatright. He was the director of ancillary services at Ambling Property Investments for 24 years. He was always there to help anyone and was known to get stuff done. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs and Valdosta Wildcats. His true love was his family, watching all their accomplishments and will always be their #1 fan. He was preceded in death by a brother: Jeffrey Boatright.
He is survived by his wife: Libby Garner Boatright of Valdosta; son: John Allon "Jay" Boatright, III of Valdosta; daughter: Maggie Elizabeth Boatright of Valdosta; father and mother: John and Ann Boatright of Valdosta; brother: Phil Boatright of Utah; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Marjorie and Elliott Garner of Ray City; brother-in-law: Bill Garner of Ray City; sister-in-law: Lisa (Gary) Beasley of Goldsboro, NC; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday April 4, 2022 at 2 PM in the First Baptist Church of Ray City with Rev. Robbie Peay and Dr. Ed Falgout officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam cemetery. Visitaton is Sunday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Special thanks to Hospice of South Georgia for their tremendous love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the South Georgia Hospice or ALS Association.
