Arthur James "Jim" Hampton, 76, of Adel died Tuesday March 15, 2016 at his residence.

He was born November 26, 1939 in Rico, CO to the late Fred Thomas Hampton and the late Beryl Laurie Hampton. He was retired as a hydraulic mechanic in the U.S. Navy for the Navy Blue Angels as Petty Officer First Class, member of VFW, member of Navy Fleet Reserve and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

He is survived by his wife: Dorell Erkert Hampton of Adel; daughter: Cynthia (Dr. Ricky) Wheeler of Nashville; 2 sons: Mike Hampton of Adel and Jimmy Hampton of Anchorage, AK; 2 brothers: Jon Hampton of Grove City, OH and Jerry Hampton of Clifton, CO; and 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 4 PM in the Nashville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Mr. Michael Spikes officiating. Interment will be held in Nashville Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the VFW. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
