Barbara Jean Harkins, 85, of Nashville, died Friday May 18, 2018 in the Berrien Nursing Center.

She was born October 24, 1932 in Hapeville, GA to the late William Byron Lewis and the late Zelma Fields Lewis. She was a homemaker and member of the Nashville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister: Juanita Hagan and a brother: Bill Lewis.

She is survived by her husband: Dr. Clarke Harkins of Nashville; 4 daughters: Sharon Harkins of Folkston, Holly Moore of Morven, Mia (Michael) Crowley of Columbus and Dera Harkins of Pelham; 4 grandchildren: Judson (Amanda) Moore of Morven, Whitney (Rob) Bennett of Knoxville, TN, Nick Crowley of Buford, SC and Jake Crowley of Columbus; 2 brothers: Gerald Lewis of Birmingham and Bobby Lewis of Sims, NC.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 21, 2018 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmie Hinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Bethany Hospice.
