Barbara Sue Rowan, 76, of Enigma, died Tuesday December 10, 2013 at her residence.
She was born January 25, 1937 in Winter Haven, FL to the late Leo Pickard and the late Stella Rowe. She was a homemaker and retired banker with 40 years service. She was the former Enigma branch manager for the Bank of Alapaha. She served 22 years on the Enigma City Council and was a member of the Enigma Congregational Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Alvin "Bobby" Rowan of Enigma; 2 daughters: Lindie Baker of Waycross and Laurie Baker (Rick) Whitworth of Lavonia; step son: Edward Rowan of Athens; step daughter: Ferris (Adeeb) Fakhoury of Mills River, NC; brother: Bud Pickard of Enigma; 9 grandchildren and a great grandson.
A private family interment will be held in the Enigma City Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 14, 2013 at 11 AM in the Enigma Gym with the Rev. Mark Stone officiating. The family will receive friends in the gym following the completion of the service. Memorials are requested to the Enigma Congregational Christian Church.
