Barney Warren Atwood, Jr, 84, of Alapaha, died Saturday August 5, 2023 in the Berrien Nursing Center.

He was born January 21, 1939 in Laurel, MS to the late Barney Warren Atwood and the late Bonnie Humphrey Atwood. He retired MSGT with the United States Air Force as a warehouse supply supervisor.

He is survived by his caregiver: Amy Burke of Alapaha; 4 daughters: Teresa Atwood of New York, Lisa Finnsson of Washington, Tamara Moon of California and Daisy Labao of California; son: Chris Atwood of California; brother: Wayne Atwood of Mississippi; special dog: Blu.

His family will honor request for cremation and no formal services will be held. His cremains will be placed in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
