Obituary

Benjie Harvey "Ben" Drawdy, 86, of Ray City, died Thursday April 22, 2021 at Langdale Hospice House.

He was born September 2, 1934 in Berrien County to the late Perry Moore Drawdy and the late Lena Clements. He was a retired educator with the Berrien County Board of Education with 32 years service and received his BS degree from Georgia Southern as well as his Masters from Valdosta State University. He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Carolyn Griffin Drawdy who died in 1997; sister: Pauline Wetherington; 4 brothers: Sherman Drawdy, Perry Moore Drawdy Jr., Carson Drawdy, and Willie "Joe" Drawdy.

He is survived by his son: Brett Drawdy of Nashville; 3 daughters: Donna (Ronnie) Floyd of Nashville, Tammy (Royce) Kendrick of Sparks and Holley (Tim) Luke of Lake Park; brother: Dr. James Drawdy of Hialeah, Fl; sister: Evelyn Stewart of Athens; 5 Grandchildren: Kelly Tapp, Reece Kendrick, Kaylee Jernigan, Landon Luke and Emma Drawdy; 2 Great Grandchildren: Brynn Jernigan and Remi Jernigan.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 24, 2021 at 3 PM in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakey Grove Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
