Henry Elbert "Bert" Snead, III, 57, of Alapaha, died Sunday July 30, 2023 at his residence.  He was born May 25, 1966 in Berrien County to the late Henry Elbert "Hank" Snead, Jr. and Gayle Norton Snead.

He was employed with Walmart at the distribution center in Douglas and was an avid fisherman.  His favorite hobby was boat riding and fishing on the Alapaha River.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law:  Samantha and Keith Pate of Alapaha; son: Hank Snead of Alapaha; mother and step father: Gayle and Van Tucker of Alapaha; sister and brother-in-law:  Melinda and Chip Wells of Cordele; grandson:  Dalton Lee Leger; uncle: Hayne Norton of Alapaha; special dog companion, Little Bit.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 2, 2023 at 11 AM in the Alapaha Community Church with Mr. Van Tucker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fletcher cemetery.  Visitation is at the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
