Betty Lou Atkinson, 86, of Adel died Wednesday December 2, 2020 at Southwell Medical Center in Adel.

She was born September 15, 1934 in Cook County to the late Carl Grover Fulp and the late Lula Lasseter Fulp.  She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.  She was the widow of Samuel J. Atkinson who died in 2006.  She was also preceded in death by a sister: Bonnie Bayman; brother: Grover Fulp.

She is survived by a daughter: Myrna (William J.) Wise of Nashville; son: James Eric Atkinson of Lake City, FL; four grandchildren: Christopher (Barbara) Wise, Jill Wise, Brittany (Justin) Herris and Stephen Atkinson; two great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Wise and Lucas Herris; three brothers: John (Barbara) Fulp of Cecil, Richard (Valeria) Fulp of Melbourne, FL and Raymond (Nancy) Fulp of Tifton; several nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held Friday December 4, 2020 in Fellowship Cemetery with the Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.
