Obituary

Betty Jean Browning, 82, of Alapaha, died Thursday July 24, 2014 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 6, 1932 in Berrien County to the late Selem LaRue Sellars and the late Mary Magaline Rutherford. She was a homemaker and had owned Betty's Grocery Store for a number of years. She was a member of Flat Creek Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Judy Crawford of Atlanta; 2 sons: Johnny (Barbara) Browning of Alapaha and Jerry (Kris) Browning of Alapaha; step daughters: Carolyn (Billy) Hall of Douglas and Marilyn (Charlie) Barker of Ray City; sister: Thelda Mae McClellan of Alapaha; brother: Buddy Sellars of Nashville; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday July 27, 2014 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 6 to 8 PM.
