Betty Sheryl Dupree, 86, of Nashville, died Monday April 15, 2024 in the Langdale Hospice House.

She was born October 13, 1937 in Tift County to the late James Preston Keen and the late Hulda Mae Hanchey Keen. She was a homemaker and such a devoted cancer patient advocate. She spent so many faithful years helping and aiding anyone who had needs; hence, the Betty Dupree Health Care Center was named in her honor in 2015. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Pam Lombard and Tammy Gortesi; 2 sons: Terry Dupree and Edwin Dupree, Jr; 3 sisters: Viola Johnson, Ruby Parr and Eula Deberry; 5 brothers: David Keen, Larry Keen, Harry Keen, Rev. James Keen and Buster Keen.

She is survived by her husband: Ed Dupree of Nashville; son: Donald Lafayette Dupree of Atlanta; sister: Doris Rouse Skinner of Ray City; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday April 18, 2024 at 11 AM in the Westview cemetery with the Rev. Bob Ellis and Dr. Steve Shiver officiating. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Humane Society or the Betty Dupree Health Care Center.
