Obituary

Betty DeVane Jolley Hancock died July 21, 2022.  She was born and lived the majority of her life in Berrien County, GA.  She was born on February 26, 1928 to Eula Mae Nix DeVane and Kissam DeVane.

Betty lived a full life in the place she loved, New Lois Community. She was active in the Nashville Women's Club, the New Lois Pine Needle Sewing Club, the New Lois Community Center and the Community United Methodist Church.  She worked for the State of GA Extension service and was able to enrich the lives of many in the 4-H program.

Betty was an avid gardener and shared her red roses with many friends and family members.  Her smile, bright blue eyes and laugh will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Woodrow Hancock, her sons, Bob Jolley, Charles Jolley and Bud Hancock, and her brothers, Kay, Donald and Toby DeVane.

Many will cherish her memory including her son, Harry Hancock (Debbie), sister- in -law, Pat DeVane, and daughters -in- law, Peggy Jolley and Rosa Hancock, grandchildren, Cathy Durland (David), Jennifer Jolley (Steve), Bo Jolley, Brett Hancock, Woodrow Hancock, Seth Hancock, Stephanie Bravo (David), Joyce Varela (Manuel), and great grandchildren, Caroline and Kate Durland, Sophia, Maria, and Alex Bravo, Carley and Edmund Varela and many nieces, nephews and special friends who will miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the Community United Methodist Church in the New Lois Community with Rev. Wayne Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday at the church one hour prior to the service.
