Ms. Betty L. Porter Lewis, 89, of Enigma, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at home. She was born April 23, 1937, to the late Andrew Jackson (A.J.) Porter and the late Mary Devera Tomlinson Porter. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Renee Lott Weeks; 3 brothers: Bernard Porter, Frazier Porter and Linwood Porter; 3 sisters: Bernestine Cullpepper, Carolyn Porter, and Martha Miller.

Ms. Lewis was a retired employee of Department of Family and Children Service of Douglas, GA after 29 years + a month of service. She was a dedicated and loyal employee who loved her family and grandchildren. She was the caretaker of her family, and helped so many others in any way she could.

Survivors include 2 sons: Andrew B. Weeks (Corvene) of Enigma and Keith Weeks of Douglas; 2 sisters: Lavenier Harrell of Austin, TX and Mary Corbett of Jennings FL; 4 grandchildren: Brandon Weeks, Brian Weeks, Andrew Brian “A.J.” Weeks Jr. and Alex Cornelius; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. Visitation will be held Monday in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A private entombment will be held at Woodland Cemetery Annex.
