Obituary

Betty Jo Royals, 92, of Nashville, died Thursday May 12, 2022 at her residence.

She was born December 28, 1929 in Berrien County to the late Ernest Gaskins and the late Rhoda Fender Gaskins. She retired from the Berrien County Board of Education as a paraprofessional with 23 years of service. She was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church and before her health declined, was a member of the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at Berrien Nursing Center for many years and absolutely loved working in her yard. She was the widow of Murel Marion Royals who died in 2002 and was also preceded in death by a sister: Pauline Green.

She is survived by her daughter: Joan Pafford of Nashville; son: John (Rhonda) Royals of Nashville; sister: Oleta Royals of Lakeland; 3 grandchildren: Kristy (Paul) Delmar, Jonathan (Holly) Royals and Blake (Delicia) Royals; 5 great grandchildren: Brooke Spells, Penny Royals, Jett Royals, Davina Royals and Declan Royals; a great great granddaughter: Emree Spells; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 23, 2022 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Dukes III and Rev Mike Royals officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Monday May 23, 2022 one hour prior to the service.
