Betty Jean Turner, age 72 of Enigma, died Saturday in the Golden Living Center.
She was born July 14, 1941 in Berrien County to the late Shelton Harris and the late Carrie DeLoach. She was retired from Shaw Industries and a member of Enigma Baptist Church. She was loved by all her grandchildren and friends. She also loved her special dog, Charlie. She was the widow of James Willard Turner and was also preceded in death by a son: Richard Turner; 3 brothers: Gene Harris, Gary Harris and Robert Harris.
She is survived by her son: Jim Turner of Enigma; daughter: Nancy Silverthorn of Enigma; Brother: Donald (Mary) Harris of Enigma; sister-in-law: Patricia Harris of Tifton; grandchildren: Matt Turner, Jason (Cordilla) Turner, Erika (Douglas) Baltezore, and Christian Turner: great grandchildren: Layleh Baltezore and Maycie Turner.
Lamar Frazier, J.E. Bennett, Shane Harris, Shawn Harris, Joey Griner, and Kim Powell served as pallbearers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Vickers Church with the Rev. Ronnie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Monday 6-8 PM.
