Billy James "Bill" Tennison, 81, of Alapaha, died Tuesday September 28, 2021 at his residence.

He was born January 23, 1940 in Marietta, MS to the late Robert Kelly Tennison and the late Stella Avo Holley Tennison. He was a farmer and adored his family. He was a member of Burton Baptist Church in Burton, MS and attended Flat Creek Church. He was preceded in death by 2 sons: Mickey Adam Tennison and James Bradley Tennison; grandson: Tanner Tennison; son-in-law: Glen Pounds; sister: Margaret Swindol; 2 brothers: Robert Tennison and Gerald Tennison.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Janet Pounds of Marietta, MS, Norma (Jim) Foster of Baldwin, MS and Darlene (Johnny) Collins of Cecil; son: Eric (Adelle) Tennison of Alapaha; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday September 30, 2021 at 2 PM in the Nashville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Visitation is Thursday thirty minutes prior to the service in the cemetery.
