Billie Steverson, 75, of Alapaha, died Tuesday July 28, 2020 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born November 8, 1944 in Atkinson County to the late Allie Thomas Steverson and the late Minnie Floyd Steverson. He was a retired master sergeant , master training instructor with the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a member and deacon at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister: Clara Gaskins and 3 brothers: Jimmie Steverson, Ray Steverson and Thomas Steverson.

He is survived by his wife: Louise Davis Steverson of Alapaha; 2 sons: Michael Steverson of Navarre, FL and Dwain (Tammy) Steverson of Alapaha; sister: Nellie Smith of Callahan, FL; brother: Lamar Steverson of Hilliard, FL; 5 grandchildren: Samantha, Rebecca, Emily, Aaron and Allison.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 1, 2020 at 2 PM  in the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Garvey Nichols, Jr. and  Rev. Kevin Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. The family requests all who plan to attend the visitation and funeral service please wear a mask.
