Obituary

Bobby Charles Akridge Sr. ,79, of Nashville, GA passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby was born on April 14, 1940 in Berrien County to the late John Daniel & Maudell (Hancock) Akridge. He was a native of Berrien County his entire life and displayed the true characteristics of a hard worker.  He was preceded in death by a brother: Johnny Akridge; sister: Shirley Pafford; and a great granddaughter: Emerson Grace Murray.

He was a local produce supplier for many years who was known for providing produce of the highest quality and taste after making many trips to North Georgia and surrounding states. After slowly transitioning out of the produce business, he opened his first convenience store (GET-N-GO) in 1986. After further expanding and opening another convenience store, he also partook in many other entrepreneurial and business opportunities throughout his lifetime.

Those that knew him knew he was a very simplistic man who was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as an enthusiast of governmental and political affairs at both the local and state level. He loved the outdoors and all of the many friends he made along the way who were patronages of his business. He could be seen around town in his old blue truck wearing his coveralls and straw hat.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years Jennie Leccese Akridge; 2 daughters: Leasa McClellan (Gregg) of Alapaha and Maria Akridge of Anderson, SC; 2 sons: Chuck Akridge of Nashville and Bob Akridge of Alapaha; 2 sisters: Faye Mincey of Nashville and Barbara Kitchens of Adel; 2 brothers: Roy Akridge of Sparks and Carroll Akridge of Enigma; 6 grandchildren: B. J. Murray, Brian Murray, Ben Murray, Trace Akridge, Hunter Akridge and Hannah Akridge; 2 great grandchildren: Carson Akridge and Kayden Murray.
