Brooks Richard Mitchell, 83, of Nashville died Monday March 4, 2019 at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.

He was born October 12, 1935 in Berrien County to the late Vonnie Lee Mitchell and the late Beulah Elizabeth Newsome Mitchell.  He was a graduate of Wiregrass Technical College, a retired mechanic with Martin Motors where he specialized in rebuilding transmissions and  never had one returned.  He was a quiet man who never complained and always said " If you have a job you love, you will never work a day in your life". He was a  veteran of the U. S. Army and the widower of Etta Marie Warren Mitchell who died in 2006.  He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Riley David Mitchell and Garland Lee Mitchell; sister: Ada Beauchamp.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Lynn Mitchell of Hahira, Sharon Mitchell of Nashville and Teresa (Gary Griner) Willis of Nashville; 4 grandchildren: Amber (Lee) Gay, Allie (James) Udvare, Dustin  and Halie; 4 great grandchildren: Kara Beth, Caylee, Lilly and Ava.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 7, 2019 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jase Bass officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
