Obituary

Selom LaRue "Buddy" Sellars, 85, of Nashville, died Monday May 16, 2022 at Pruitt Heritage House in Valdosta.

He was born March 15, 1937 in Cook County to the late Selom Luther Sellars and the late Mary Magdalene Rutherford Sellars. He was a deputy sheriff with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office and a police officer with the City of Nashville with 15 years of service between the two and a truck driver with Steel Buildings Systems in Adel. He was a member of Flat Creek Church, served in the United States Navy and a Mason in Duncan Lodge #234 F&AM since 1978. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Victoria Clarke; 2 sisters: Betty Browning and Ilene Thompson; brother: Comer Sellars.

He is survived by his wife: Connie Dixon Sellars of Nashville; daughter: Dreama (Cotton) Stone of Nashville; 5 sons: Kenneth Allen (Maria) Clarke of Loxley, AL, Comer Lee (Becky) Sellars of Jesup, Thomas Leslie (Jane) Clarke of Pleasant View, TN, Phillip (Virginia) Clarke of Nashville and David (Lejuana) Sellars of Nashville; sister: Thelda McClellan of Alapaha; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 19, 2022 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Swain and Rev. Riley O'Berry officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
