Buie Daniel "Danny" Kirkland, 65, of Nashville, died Sunday January 22, 2012 in the Tift Health Care.
He was born December 28, 1946 in Lowndes County to the late Arthur Buie Kirkland and the late Fannie Ruth Stanford. He was a retired loan officer with First Federal Savings and Loan in Valdosta. He was a member of Faith Chapel. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia Kelly Kirkland of Nashville; 2 sons: Scott (Michelle) Kirkland of Blackshear and Steven Kirkland of Phoenix, AZ; sister: Redith Gaines of Nashville; mother-in-law: Katherine Kelly of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: Daniel Kirkland, Emma-Kate Ansley Kirkland, and Braydan Kirkland; 2 nephews: Jason and B.J. Gaines; 3 nieces: Kay Rice, Erin Young, and Jana Gaines.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 25, 2012 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Old City cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
