Burma Bowling Robinette, 65, of Nashville died Saturday June 18, 2011 in the Berrien Nursing Center with her family and friends gathered around her.
She was born on September 28, 1945 in Pikeville, KY to the late Marcus Bowling and Lurlie Owens. She worked in various convenient stores and made many friends over the years. Once you were a friend you were always her friend and she never met a stranger. She loved to sing and had beautiful voice. Friends and family that were closest to her knew her as "Nanny Boo". She will be greatly missed from all whom new and loved her. She was of the Frewill Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Joshua Robinette and her children's father Charles Robinette.
She is survived by 3 sons: Eddie (Carol) Robinette, Johnny (Chelli) Robinette, and Terry Robinette (fiancé: Nichole Paust) all of Nashville; her mother and step father: Lurlie Owens Bowling and Wendell Richwine of Nashville; sister: Anna Sue (Lewis) Griffin of Moultrie; brother: Roger Bowling of Ray City; 11 grandchildren: Tarinda Skaggs, Anthony (Jessica) Hayes, Tiffany and Chris Harrell, Craig and Summer Robinette, Michaela (Nick) Robinette Helig, Jessica Huddleston, T.J. Dampier, Christopher Robinette, and Jessica (Colt) Robinette Ford; 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 21, 2011 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. James (Shot) Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
