Obituary

Carlis Albert Cooper, 87, of Nashville, died Monday, March 2, 2026, at SGMC Berrien Campus.

He was born July 31, 1938, in Berrien County to the late James Albert Cooper and the late Lucille Gaskins Cooper. He was a retired aircraft technician with civil service, member of Nashville First Baptist Church, served in the Army and the United States Air Force. He loved his family, being outdoors, working in his shop, riding his tractor, fruit trees, going to gun shows, watching westerns and hunting ducks.

He is survived by his wife: Marginell Quinn Cooper of Nashville; son: Al (Paige) Cooper of Nashville; brother: Larry (Janice) Cooper of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Keffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens with military honors.  Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
