Carlton Luther Corey, 79, of Monroe died Monday August 14, 2017 in Roberta Nursing Home.
He was born December 5, 1937 in Cook County to the late William Herschel Corey and the late Matilda Lou Harris Corey. He was a machinist in the textile industry. He was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Ruth Thompson.
He is survived by 2 sons: Stanley Corey of Ray City; Wendell Corey of Tallahassee, FL; 6 great grandchildren: Joshua Joe, Brittany Lucille, Brandi Sue Ann, Kevin Michael, Lauren Elisabeth and Amanda Charlene; 2 great grandchildren; brother: Robert (Robbie Nell) Corey of Lake Park; 2 sisters: Betty Rhoden of Valdosta and Irene Simpson of Portland, OR.
The family has honored his request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Thursday August 24, 2017 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Robbie Peay officiating.
