Carolyn Elaine Hancock, 70, of Nashville, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was born October 7, 1955, in Flat Rock, AL to the late Alfred Barnes and the late Mildred Lainey Barnes. She was a homemaker, worked at Nashville Mills and for many years managed EnMark convenient stores. She loved her family, grandchildren and growing flowers. She was preceded in death by her companion: Tony Douglas who died in 2015 and a brother: Anthony Barnes.

She is survived by a daughter: Nicole McLellan of Nashville; 2 sons: James (Tina) Hancock of Nashville and Tony Jo “Joey” Douglas of Nashville; 3 sisters: Janice Hamby of Alabama, Pamela Hass of Nashville and Melissa Smith of Frost Proof, FL; brother: Buddy Barnes of Arkansas; 4 grandchildren: Candace Hancock, Jacob Hancock, Trenton Douglas and Landen Douglas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Vickers cemetery. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service in funeral home.
