Carolyn Jean Kirkland, 78, of Nashville, died Sunday August 11, 2024, in the Langdale Hospice House.

She was born November 8, 1945, in Norfolk, VA to the late Fred W. Norris and the late Ruth Sirmans Norris. She was the office manager for Dr. Newland and Dr. Lawson for years and a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully played the piano for years. She was a loving, Godly lady who kept a prayer journal and prayer corner in her home. She loved her family, church and her grandsons called her "Nana". She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Bobby Meyer and Freddy W. Norris.

She is survived by her husband: Donnie Kirkland of Nashville; son: Brad (Melissa) Kirkland of Nashville; 2 grandsons: Kyler and Easton Kirkland.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Dukes III officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitations is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Poplar Springs cemetery fund.
