Carroll Wayne Exum, 76, of Ray City, died Monday December 11, 2023 at his residence.
He was born August 15, 1947 in Berrien County to the late James Exum and the late Doris Crews Exum. He retired as Chief Grain Inspector with the Ga Department of Agriculture after 35 years and was a member of the Ray City Methodist Church. He loved his family, was instrumental in little league ball and coached so many teams. He was a member of the Ray City Fire Department for 26 years and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Dora Faye Rowan and Margaret Sirmans; a nephew Earl Wayne Sirmans; three brothers-in-law; Rickey Giddens, Wayne Giddens, and Neil Giddens.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda Exum of Ray City; 2 sons: Brent (Laura) Exum of Adel and Trent (Crystal) Exum of Adel; 4 grandchildren: Parker Exum, Carter Exum, Clayton Exum and Cooper Exum; a sister: Judy (Charlie) McClellan of Adel; 2 brothers: Earl (Judy) Exum of Pooler and Don (Pat) Exum of Blakely; extra son: Daryn Snipes of Valdosta 2 sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Debbie (David) Roe and Kathy (Billy) Mathis; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 15, 2023 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Mitchell and Rev. Nick Kinsey officiating. Interment will follow in the New Ramah cemetery. Visitation is Friday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
