Caye
Robinson
November 8, 1954 – October 4, 2020
Anelda Caye Barber Robinson, 65, of the West Berrien community, died Sunday, October 4, 2020, at her residence.
Caye was born November 8, 1954, at the old Tifton hospital, to Marie Baker Barber and the late Elmo Earnest Barber. She graduated from Berrien High School in 1972 and ABAC in 1974 and began a more than four-decade career as a registered nurse at age 19. She worked for multiple hospitals and home health agencies throughout her career, with the bulk of her work being as the emergency room supervisor at the Berrien County hospital.
A member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Caye loved cooking and was known for her wonderful Christmas parties and family gatherings. She could whip up a large family dinner at a moment's notice. She also authored a cookbook, "Caye's Keepsake Recipe Collection," containing many of the recipes passed down from family and friends. When she wasn't cooking, Caye enjoyed reading and watching "The Andy Griffith Show," Hallmark movies and other family-oriented TV shows. She especially loved the "Little House on the Prairie" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, although she was quick to admit that she appreciated modern conveniences way too much to have been a pioneer woman.
In addition to her mother, Caye is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles Edward Robinson; daughters Lori Caye Horne of Nashville and Lisa Marie Robinson of Moultrie; son Jeffrey Edward Robinson (Misty) of Ray City; grandsons Hunter, Michael and Kaden; granddaughters Abigail and Natalie; brother Jim Barber (Becky) of Lilburn, Georgia; special cousin Sharon Barber Webb; and three nieces and two nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mickey Lindsey will officiate, with interment to follow at Pine Grove cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandson, Hunter Luke, and first cousins, Mike Barber, Billy Barber, Greg Griner, Don Griner and Mike Baker.
