Chalmes Pridgen, 84, of West Berrien died Friday January 24, 2020 in the Berrien Nursing Center.
He was born February 26, 1935 in Coffee County to the late Rufus Pridgen and the late Azalee Sayer Williams. He was self employed in the construction industry, worked in maintenance with Agri Supply (MSI) in Tifton and a member of Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by daughter: Cheryl Ann McCoy; son: Allan Pridgen; brother: Robert Merritt; and a sister: Ann West.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara Crosby Pridgen of West Berrien; two daughters: Vonnie (Gary) Schofield of Nashville and Lisa Pridgen of Mulberry, FL; three sons: Timmy Pridgen of Mulberry, FL, David Pridgen of Mulberry, FL and Pascal (Karen) Autrey of Thomasville; two sisters: Connie (Don) Clemons of Fort Walton, FL and Elizabeth (Jim) Derus of Milledgeville; 2 brothers: Joseph (Joyce) Merritt of Fitzgerald and James "Pee-Wee" Merritt of Fitzgerald; 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will honor his request for cremation and no formal services will be held.
