Charles Henry "Charlie" Barker, 83, of Ray City died Saturday September 7, 2019 at his residence.
He was born August 6, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Otis Charlie Barker and the late Clara Mae Dorsey. He was a farmer, owner of Barrett's Grocery and retired civil service at Moody Air Force Base. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ray City and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Harry Barker, Howard Barker, Horace Barker, William T. Barker, Huey Barker and Johnny Barker; 5 sisters: Anna Belle Carter, Mary Smith, Sue Register, Lane Miley and Linda Miley.
He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Browning Barker of Ray City; daughter: Michele (Danny) Moffett of McDonough; grandson: Grayson Moffett of McDonough; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Billy and Frankie Hall of Douglas, Johnny and Barbara Browning of Alapaha, Jerry and Kris Browning of Alapaha and Judy Crawford of Buckhead; special friends: Nell and Sam Walden; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 11, 2019 at 2 PM in the First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Robbie Peay officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
