Obituary

Charles Nicholas "Charlie" Flanders, 69, of Alapaha died Monday July 22, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 2, 1949 in Berrien County to the late Charles Henry Flanders and the late Sarah Summerlin Flanders.  He was employed with Barfield Gas as a manager and service technician. He was of the Baptist Faith, loved animals and was known as "Papa Chewy".

He is survived by his wife: Glenda Tucker Flanders of Alapaha; son: Nick (Tina) Flanders of Ocilla; 2 grandchildren: Sara Flanders and Brodie Flanders both of Ocilla; 2 brothers: Tommy (Susan) Flanders of Enigma and Larry (Kay) Flanders of Alapaha; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday July 25, 2019 at 2 PM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Garvie Nichols, Jr. and Rev. Michael Bennett officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday 6 to 8 PM. Pallbearers will be Corrie Flanders, Heck Flanders, Tate Tucker, Perry Mullis, Roger Nugent, Carl Nichols, Jimmy Harper and Matt Hinson. Grace Flanders will sing, Lay Me Down.
