Charles Ray Simpson, 85, of Nashville, died Tuesday July 9, 2024 in the Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
He was born March 27, 1939 in Williamstown, KY to the late Paul Simpson and the late Margaret Coleman Simpson. He was a retired truck driver with J.H. Harvey Co, Walmart and Food Lion. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Willacoochee and served in the United States Air Force. He loved his family, going to church and wood working. He was preceded in death by his wife: Maggie Goad Simpson who died in 2019 and was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Mildred Long, Rose Strong and Betty Goble; 6 brothers: Leroy, Glenn, Bobby Eugene, Paul, Billy, Fred W. and Howard Simpson.
He is survived by a daughter: Connie Shelton of Frankfort, KY; 5 sons: Keith (Shawna) Simpson of Franklin, TN, John Simpson of Dry Ridge, KY and Scott (May) Evans of Ocala, Jay (Missy) Evans of Nashville and Jamey (Dana) Evans of Eastgate, OH FL; 2 sisters: Margorie (Doc) Harris of Murfreesboro, TN and Joyce Miller of Crittenden, KY; 3 brothers: Virgil (Faye) Simpson of Hollywood, FL, Larry Simpson of Williamstown, KY and David (Joan) Simpson of Independence, KY; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 13, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
