Clarice K. "Oleda" Fitzgerald
(May 13, 1937 – August 14, 2017)
Clarice "Oleda" Kirkland Fitzgerald, 80, of Crozet, Virginia died on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
She was born on May 13, 1937 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Ardie Kirkland and Nellie Kirkland. She worked a number of years in various occupations, but served as a cook for most of her career, first with the Albemarle County School System and then at Windham Retirement Home in Crozet, Virginia. She was a long-time member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Whitehall, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her four sisters: Jeanette Wilson, Florence Cobb, Hazel Conner and Nell Ervin.
She is survived by her four children: Brenda (and Tony) Mooney, Brad (and Beth) Carver, Donna (and Dave) Hahn, and Patty Carver. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Christopher Pannell, Jennifer Spradlin, Erika Graves, Kevin Graves, Dillon Harper, Matthew Carver, Samantha Carver, Ally Carver, Russell Carver and Katie Carver. She also had one great-granddaughter, Teagan Spradlin.
Funeral services will be held at graveside at the West View Cemetery in Nashville, Georgia on Sunday September 10, 2017 at twelve noon with the Rev. Dwight Bishop officiating. There will be a brief viewing prior to the service, from 11:00 – 11:45 at the Lovein Funeral Home.
Additionally, on Saturday September 2 2017, at 2 PM, there will be a celebration of life service at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Whitehall, Virginia, her home church. The service will be led by Pastor Alan R. Follett.
