Obituary

Clinton Moye Bailey, 81, passed away peacefully after a long illness at Fellowship Home, Nashville, Georgia, on April 26, 2026, in Nashville, Georgia. He was born in Nashville, Georgia on February 12, 1945, to the late late Carrie Ella McKinnon and James Seaborn Bailey.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Wenda Gaile Bailey, sister, Mary Alice Bailey King (Richard Lee King, deceased), nephews Byron Scott Bailey (Kelly), Matthew Todd Bailey (Danielle), Jonathon Bailey, Kevin Bailey (Annette), Nolan Bailey, and niece, Mia Bailey. He is also survived by step-daughter Jennifer L. Smith (Rodney), step granddaughter, Madison Smith King (Blaine), and step-great granddaughter Indy Kate King. He is predeceased by his mother and father and brothers, John David Bailey (Sandra), and Charles Wesley Bailey (Peggy, deceased). Mr. Bailey is survived by several grand nieces and nephews, as well as his first wife, Rosemarie Griffin Bailey of Orlando.

Mr. Bailey grew up in Nashville, Georgia, but migrated to Orlando, Florida, in 1961 when his brothers and mother and father chose to move. He attended Berrien County Schools through 10th grade and graduated from Edgewater High School, Orlando, in 1963, and attended Mid-Florida Tech in Orlando..

Mr. Bailey was an avid photographer and amateur radio operator, call sign NT4E, and had been since the age of 15 years. He was an aficionado of country music and older rock-n-roll, in particular, and enjoyed attending concerts, be they country, rock or other. He enjoyed traveling and particularly loved the north Georgia, Tennessee and Carolina mountains. He took photographers wherever he traveled and of local scenery, being especially fond on driving along Berrien County and other local dirt roads – all the while stopping to taking photos.

He was a lover of four-legged companion throughout his life, from Chief, his German Shepherd, to Danny Boy, Bridget, Maggie Mae, and Sadie Mae, Border Collies, to Jessy Belle, Labrador Retriever, Luna Belle, and his beloved dachshund, Buddy “Cha Cha” Smith-Bailey

Clinton was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict era, serving in medical corp and as Chaplin’s assistant.Clinton attended First Baptist Church in Nashville and later attended Reformed Presbyterian Church of Orlando. He was an avid student of The Bible and quoted scriptures often.He worked as banking accounting clerk, dispatcher for National Freight, Inc. and also operated his own cleaning service in Orlando.

Clinton was a devoted husband, brother, step-father and grandfather, known affectingly as “Papa” by his granddaughter, Madison.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2 PM in the Westview Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation is Saturday in Westview Cemetery  from 1:30-2:00. Mr. Bailey will be buried next to his beloved mother, as he wished.
