Obituary

Curtis Wetherington, 83, of Nashville died Sunday March 30, 2014 at his residence.

He was born November 2, 1930 in Cook County to the late Ira Wetherington and the late Ruby Watson. He was a retired sales agent with Independent and American General. He was an avid ham radio operator, a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of Nashville VFW Post and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Susan Wetherington; granddaughter: Brook Chauncey; 2 brothers: Ralph Wetherington and Frank Wetherington; 2 sisters: Cleo Dryden and Sallie Shirah.

He is survived by his wife: Virginia May Wetherington of Nasvhille; daughter: Sandra (Shelly) Chauncey of Pearson; son: Greg ( Donna) Wetherington of Nashville; brother: Ira Thomas Wetherington of Anderson, SC; 2 grandsons: Chris (Nikki) Wetherington and Jeremy (Katie) Wetherington; several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke, Rev. Danny Ray and Rev. Ben Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Empire Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
