Obituary

Daniel Albert “Dan” Taylor, 86, of Nashville died Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on October 30, 1939, in Jacksonville, Fl to the late Jo Brown “J.B.” Taylor and the late Fannie Belle Gray Taylor. He was a husband, father, brother, and in the later years, the best grandpa and great-grandpa. A mechanic by trade, he loved what he did. If something was broken, he was the one you called. He worked with Bo Cole and Schwartz Pontiac and later owned Southern Wrecker. He was a huge help around the farm and loved checking cows, riding around, and making sure everything was as it should be. He especially loved peach season. You could usually find him in the orchard helping pick peaches, although he probably ate just as many as he picked. He loved being outside and being wherever the action was. One of his favorite things was having his family all together at his house, eating, laughing, and fellowshipping. In his later years, he became quieter and more soft-spoken, but when he talked, you listened. He always seemed to have a little piece of wisdom to share. He loved his family fiercely, never hesitated to help someone in need, and could fix just about anything—I mean anything. He served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran, worked hard his entire life, and left an impact on more people than he probably ever realized. To us, he was Papa T/Papa/Daddy. The man who loved his family, and was always there when you needed him. And oh, what a blessing it was to call him ours. He was preceded in death by a son: Daniel Albert Taylor, Jr.; 4 sisters: Gloria Pharr, Thelma Taylor, Laura Taylor and Linda “Bunnie” Taylor; 3 brothers: Joe Taylor, Troy Taylor and Wayne Taylor.

He is survived by his wife: Glenda Taylor of Nashville; daughter: Tammy (Bruce) Auman of Jasper, FL; son: Dan Alan (Jenny) Taylor of Nashville, Troy (Melissa) Taylor of Nashville; 6 grandchildren: Lee (Anna) Money, Dalton (Katelyn) Money, Macy Taylor, Ellie Taylor, Caden Taylor and Courson Taylor; 8 great-grandchildren: Karter, Cooper, Lily Grace, Emery Kate, Olivia Hayes, Parker, Kamdyn, Addie; 2 sisters: Sandra (Jimmy) Wood of Adel and Bessie Leavens of Ivey; brother-in-law: Bobby Pharr of Lenox; several nieces and nephews; 3 step grandkids: Kenda Auman of Largo, Fl, Sarah Bell of Largo, Fl and Logan Chase Auman of Perry, Fl.; 2 step greatgrands: Ava Grave and Kashtyn.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Lindsey, Rev. Deran Hardeman and Rev. Chris Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held in the funeral home Thursday night from 6 to 8 PM.
