Darrel Walker's Obituary
Darrel Leon Walker, 75, of Valdosta, died Monday December 15, 2014 at the Langdale Hospice House.
He was born December 26, 1938 in Gentry, MO to the late Onas Walker and the late Edith Harris Walker. He was a retired MSGT from the United States Air Force with 20 years service, retired as the contractual airplane pilot for the J.H. Harvey Co. and was a member of Abundant Life Church of God. He had a deep passion for flying and also was an instructor to many. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Daphyne Walker who died in 1997.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Shealey Walker of Valdosta; 2 sons: Keith Walker of Jacksonville, FL and Rodney (Tina) Walker of Nashville; 2 step daughters: Sonya (Frank) Mayer of Valdosta and Susan (TR) Herrera of Valdosta; brother: Aubrey (Juanita) Walker of Gentry, MO; 6 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 19, 2014 at 2 PM in the Abundant Life Church of God with the Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
