Daryel Lancaster, 65, of Nashville, died Monday January 4, 2021 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 28, 1955 in Hahira, GA to the late Johnny Ethridge Lancaster and the late Alma Lee Cowart Lancaster. He was the director for Berrien County EMS for 25 years, owned and operated Deep South EMS and was also a Deputy Coroner for Berrien County. He had a true heart to serve the citizens of Berrien County and his leadership will be greatly missed. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his family and friends and he adored children. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Joyce Lancaster; 2 brothers-in-law: Dewayne Lanier and Scott Fountain

He is survived by his wife: Linda Pruitt Lancaster of Nashville; 4 sisters: Betty Jean Lanier of Nashville, Sandra L. Hansford of Nashville; Susan L. (Tommy) Nelms of Nashville and Judy (Doug) Rutland of Nashville; 3 brothers: Johnny Lancaster, Jr of Nashville, Randy (Marilyn) Lancaster of Nashville and Larry (Teresa) Lancaster of Nashville; father-in-law: John W. Pruitt of Lakeland; 2 sisters-in-law: Tina Fountain of Lakeland and Miranda Pruitt of Lakeland; 2 brothers-in-law: Wesley (Darcy) Pruitt of Nashville and Jim Pruitt of Cairo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday January 8, 2021 at 11 AM in the Empire Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. The family will receive friends in the cemetery after the service. Anyone who would desire may come by the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 5 PM to sign the registry. The family request anyone who attends the service to please wear a mask.
