Sergeant David Lester Register, 52, of Nashville died Monday May 16, 2016 in SGMC Berrien Campus.
He was born October 27, 1963 in Monroe, NC to the late Henry Ronald Register and Mary Lou Moore Register. He began public service in 1985 when he became as an EMT working for Clinch, Cook and Berrien counties. In 1990 he began his law enforcement career with the Adel Police Department before becoming a deputy with the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Upon leaving Cook County, he worked with the Nashville Police Department and Lakeland P.D. before joining Nashville full time. In addition to his full time law enforcement and EMT career, he had been a volunteer firefighter with the Chaserville Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Joann Nobles Register of Nashville; 3 daughters: Brianna Register of Chiefland, FL, Sarah Register and Rachel Register, both of Nashville; mother: Mary Register of Adel; 2 brothers: Ron Register of Adel and Stanley Register of Orlando, FL; sister: Marianne Watson of Lenox.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 20, 2016 at 2 PM in The Bridge Church with the Rev. Mark Swain and Police Chief Chuck Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
