David Wayne Tomberlin, 80, of Nashville died Thursday February 16, 2017 at his residence.
He was born March 7, 1936 in Berrien County to the late William Bernice Tomberlin and the late Susie Brantley Tomberlin. For many years, he was associated with the former Nashville Grocery Company and retired from American General Insurance Company. He was a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He loved being outdoors, working in the yard and fishing with his grandsons. He was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Millirons; and 3 brothers: Howard, Frank and Robert Tomberlin.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Mae Tyson Tomberlin of Nashville; 2 daughters: Pam & Mike Stone of Willacoochee and Kim & Rev. J. W. Dukes, III of Nashville; son: Scott Tomberlin of Ray City; 7 grandchildren: Josh & Christy Dukes, Austin Tomberlin, David Dukes, Jay Tomberlin, Laura Stone, Audra & Chance Miley and Landon Stone; 2 great grandchildren: Farrah Miley and Joseph Kai Tomberlin; 2 brothers: Rev. Dr. William B. Tomberlin of McCleansboro, IL and Jimmy Tomberlin of Cairo; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday February 19, 2017 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J. W. Dukes, III and Rev. Billy Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Empire Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday one hour prior to the service.
