Sarah Della Purvis, 78, of Ray City died Thursday, February 26, 2026 at SGMC Berrien.

She was born September 24, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lewis Durante McConnell and the late Sarah Dumas McConnell. She was a homemaker and retired rural mail carrier for 23 years. She was a member of Lakeland Methodist Church where she served as lay leader, song leader and taught Sunday school. She loved being outside, gardening, flowers and especially her roses.

She is survived by her husband: Buddy Purvis of Ray City; 2 sons: Scott (Genia) of Tifton and Kevin Purvis of Ray City; 2 brothers: Buddy (Sherrie) McConnell of Fountain, FL and Rev. Tim (Debbie) McConnell of Waynesville, NC; 3 grandchildren: Jake Purvis, Michaela Purvis and Brody Lott; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2026, at 2PM in the Lakeland Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Hauser and Rev. Henry Bass officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 12 to 2 PM in the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lakeland Methodist Church.
