Obituary

Jaqueline Diane Owens, 71, of Enigma, lovingly known as Diane to all her family and friends, entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 15, 2025, while surrounded by the love of her family.

Diane was born in Augusta on August 8, 1954, entering this world as an Army brat, which instilled in her a love of travel and experiencing new things. She loved to explore the United States with her family, visiting national and state landmarks, making memories and sharing kindness with all the people she met. She always liked to be on the go and had a knack for being a "social butterfly."

As a member of Enigma Baptist Church, Diane loved to teach the children about Jesus in children's church and has held all of them over the years in a special place in her heart. She loved to visit friends, sing, and going to town with her mom to shop, run errands, and to spend the day together.

Diane loved to cook, bake, and make crafts. She always liked to be working on some kind of project, which is something she passed down to her nieces as she taught them how to make different recipes, how to accessorize and decorate, how to crochet and knit, as well as many other skills. She always made her nieces a priority and treated them as if they were her own. Along with many others, they will miss her deeply. Diane is preceded in entering her Heavenly home by her mother, Mrs. Jean Owens, and her sister, Teresa Dee Owens (Dover).

She is survived by her daddy, O.Dee Owens, of Enigma; her uncle, Jimmy Owens of Tyrone GA; her nieces: Ashley Dee (Brent Amyette) of Greenville SC, Sarah Jean (Andrew) Swain of Norman Park GA, and Katie (Kyle) Conger of Enigma GA. As well as her great niece and nephews; Leila Dee Rimes, Beau Swain, and Jace Conger. She is also survived by her many cousins whom she adored and her dear family friend Barbara Mace of Fairfield VA.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Abell officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
