Dolores Vickers,79, of Alapaha, died Monday January 12, 2015 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 4, 1935 in Berrien County to the late Ira Swilley and the late Essie Harper Swilley. She was a homemaker, retired educator from the Berrien County Board of Education with 36 years of service and was a member of New Griffin Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Darward Vickers of Alapaha; daughter: Iris Heath of Alapaha; 2 sons: Chad Vickers and Iraman (Melissa) Vickers both of Alapaha; 2 sisters: Carolyn Slovitz of Ocala, FL and Janice Walker of Alapaha; brother: James Swilley of Pineview; 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 16, 2015 at 11 AM in New Griffin Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Sim Youngblood and Rev. Billy Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Paron Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM.
