Don Powers, 84, of Nashville passed away on Saturday December 16, 2023 in Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born on August 1, 1939 in Cook County to the late Hortense Register Powers and the late Etheridge Hall Powers. He retired from a career in photography and as a shipping manager from Propex. He was a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church.  Don loved the Lord, his family and a multitude of friends, especially Leon Tucker and Wayne McGee, never hesitating to put them before himself.  He also had a passion for coaching kids on and off the baseball fields.  He was preceded in death by his daughter: Trecia Powers; brothers: Raymond Powers and Warren Powers and a sister Elizabeth (Liz) McDonald.

Don is survived by his wife: Kay Powers of Nashville; son Daniel (Lauren) Powers of Thomasville; one grandchild Landen Powers; two sisters: Virginia Richardson of Perry and Sandra Ray of Nashville; two brothers: Roger (Janet) Powers of Gainesville and David (Jackie) Powers of Gainesville; extra sons: John Tucker of Thomasville and Kyle Powers of Flowery Branch; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 20, 2023 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and Rev. R.T. Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
