Donald Ray "Don" Simmons, 77, of Nashville died Friday May 31, 2013 at his residence.
He was born January 26, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Shafter Daniel Simmons and the late Myrtice Eula Moore. He faithfully managed Anderson Shell and also for many years owned and operated WNGA Gospel Radio Station. He was a very devoted, loving husband and father who truly loved the Lord while serving his friends and community. He was of the Pentecostal and Church of God faith. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Max Simmons, James Simmons, George Simmons, and Rudolph Simmons.
He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Kirkland Simmons of Nashville; 2 daughters: Donna (Mark) Morris of Nashville and Joan (Joseph) Catalino of Alexandria, VA; 2 sons: David Simmons of Nashville and Chris (April) Simmons of Nashville; 2 sisters: Estelle Tripp of Sanford, NC and Elizabeth Miller of Jacksonville, FL; 9 grandchildren: Hannah, Kristin, Camryn, Zachary, Cannon, Tessa, Sam, Addison, and Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Monday June 3, 2013 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Cason officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery.
