Donald Dale Snipes, 73, of Hampton, died Thursday November 24, 2016 at the Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough.
He was born April 23, 1943 in Berrien County to the late Arthur Leonard Snipes and the late Louise Elizabeth Garner Snipes. He was a retired truck driver with Sherwin Williams and a member of First Baptist Church of Ray City. He was mason and a member of Hampton Lodge #70 in McDonough. He was also an honorary member of the GA Sheriff's Association and a volunteer for the Henry County Sheriff and Fire Departments. He was preceded in death by a sister: LaJuana Clark; brother: Charles Snipes; and a grandson: Sean Smith.
He is survived by his wife: Peggy Vickery Snipes of Hampton; 3 daughters: Selena (Chris) Smith of Pensacola, FL, Regina Lewis of Hampton and Donna Fouts of Hampton; 4 brothers: Duggan Snipes of Snellville, Billy Snipes of Jennings, FL, Walter Snipes of Ray City and James Snipes of Buford; 2 grandsons: Christopher Snipes and Wade Lewis; 3 great grandchildren: Landen, Camden and Rayden; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday November 27, 2016 at 2 PM in the First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Robbie Peay, Mr. Kenneth Clark and Mr. James Snipes officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Dam Cemetery with full Masonic Rites. Visitation is Saturday from 5 to 7 PM.
