Doris Callahan, 93, of Nashville, died Sunday August 28, 2016 in the Berrien Nursing Center. She had resided in Boston, MA for 40 years before moving to Nashville.
She was born January 12, 1923 in Chattaroy, West Virginia to the late Charles Lawrence Fletcher and the late Virginia Mary Bounds Fletcher. She was a true homemaker and member of the Nashville United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Edgar Mearle Callahan who died in 2000 and also preceded in death by a brother: William Lawrence Fletcher and a great grandson: Wyatt Bredell.
She is survived by her daughter: Susan Keen of Nashville; 3 sons: Robert Alan Callahan of Truro, MA, Edgar Mearle (Judy Carmichael) Callahan, Jr. of Albany and Steven (Kathy Massamini) Callahan of Lamoine, ME; 4 sisters: Virginia Irene Williams of Richmond, VA, Margaret Nan of Wise, VA, Peggy Tolbert of Wise, VA and Barbara Josephine Provost of Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren: Dylan Morgan Callahan, Fletcher Morgan Callahan, Richard James Keen, Jonathan Edgar Keen, William Alan Keen and Matthew Ryan Keen; and 4 great grandchildren: Camylle Callahan, Abygail Callahan, Taylor Bredell and Stuart Bredell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday September 1, 2016 at 5 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Addington officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers: Dan Knight, Jason Hughes, Turner Hughes, Robert Trowel, Jr., Eric Staley, and Michael Spray.
