Doris Hughes' Obituary
Doris Hughes, 81, of Valdosta died Friday April 13, 2012 at her residence.
She was born March 11, 1931 in Lanier County to the late Noah Lee Roe and the late Callie Mae Harnage. She was a homemaker and member of Knights Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of L.D. Hughes who died in 2003and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: J.C. Roe and William Roe; and a sister Ollie Mae Bennett.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Patricia Miley of Hahira, Barbara Seago of Hahira, and Linda Beth Thomas of Valdosta; son: Howard Hughes of Danville; Edna Fender of Hollywood, FL; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April 15, 2012 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Rowell and the Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Empire Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 6 to 8 PM.
