Doris Wilma Jernigan, 89, of Alapaha died Saturday May 19, 2018 at her residence.

She was born September 22, 1928 in Berrien County to the late Elisha Roberts and the late Gladys Brogdon Roberts.  She was a homemaker, family matriarch in the operation of Jernigan's Store and Farm Supply and a member of Alapaha Baptist Church.  She was the widow of Willaford Jernigan who died January 7, 2018.

She is survived by a daughter: Darlene (Don) Turner of Alapaha; son: Darrell (Faye) Jernigan of Alapaha; brother: Rev. Billy Roberts of Alapaha; 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Ruff, Darrell Jernigan, Jr., Rebecca Davis, Kristie Harper and Kellie Turner; 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday May 22, 2018 at 11 AM in Alapaha Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl McHan officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
